Construction Guidelines
Fabrication
Live Load:
- 100-psf gross horizontal projection
- Lateral sway load: 24 plf seat plank
- Perpendicular sway load: 10 plf seat plank
- What load: 30 psf vertical projection, or per local code
- Live load of seat and tread plank: 120 psf
- Guardrail
a. 10 plf
vertical and 50 plf horizontal railing height, minimum 42", adjacent
seating included
b. Mid-aisle
height: Minimum 34"
c. Aisle
width: Minimum 48' or designated code
d.Guardrails,
seats, and floor treads must reject a 4" sphere, where more than 30' above
grade.
- Seating Constructors USA, Inc. meets or exceeds design Load and safety
standards set by BOCA, UBC, and SBC.
- Stresses in steel members and connections shall not exceed American
Institute of Steel Construction specifications
- To assure local code compliance, local specifications must be supplied
by owner prior to engineered drawings.
Understructure
Steel I-beam structure (Clear span):
- Hot rolled, wide flange I-beam (ASTM- A36, A572 Grade 50)
- Hot rolled steel angle components (A-36)
- Galvanized steel angle frame structures (portables)
- 11/2"x11/2"x3/16x2"x2"x3/16"and 3"x3"x1/4" make up the cross bracing,
framing stringers, and safety railing support brackets(A-36 hot-rolled
angle)
- Aluminum square box tubing frame structures (3"x3"xl/8" 6061-T6) *Available
on special order portable bleachers
- Aluminum angle frame structures (portables)
- 11/2"x11/2"x2"x2x3/16'', and 3"x3"x1/4" make up cross bracing frame

angle)
